The Word on The Street Fest!

Another exciting announcement! I've been asked to speak on a panel with Adam Garnet Jones and Star Spider at Toronto's Word On The Street Fest, this September 23rd, at Harbourfront. We'll be on the Teen Spirit Stage at 2:45pm to discuss some heavy topics - death, grief, and the confusion of coming of age when everything and everyone around you seems to be falling apart.

In Star Spider's book, Past Tense, Julie Nolan must deal with her mother's belief that she has died, desperately holding her family together while navigating her own blossoming sexuality. It's a deceptively easy read that really sucks you in to a world of midnight runs to the cemetery, mental illness, and toxic friendships.

Adam Garnet Jones's book Fire Song actually debuted as a feature length film at the Toronto International Film Fest in 2015, which he also wrote & directed. It's gritty, dark and heartbreaking, yet filled with intensity and love. A marvelous read!

WOTS is a free event, with hundreds of authors reading, speaking, and signing books, with many other fun events to take part in. A truly illuminating experience for any avid reader! I hope you'll join us there :)
